OT4You Occupational Therapy Services

Therapy

Sensory sessions

One-to-one, play-based sessions where your child chooses from carefully set-up equipment while the therapist gently shapes the challenge.

Principle

Child-led play

Swings, crash mats, climbing and tactile play are chosen to match what your child's body is seeking or avoiding.
Principle

The just-right challenge

Activities are pitched so they are achievable but stretching, building confidence along with skills.
Goal

Regulation first

Children learn to notice how their body feels and move between calm and alert states.
Goal

Carry-over

Each session ends with ideas for home and school, so progress continues between visits.

A typical session

  • Arrive and settle with a calming warm-up
  • Movement and play with sensory equipment
  • Fine-motor or skill-based activity
  • Wind-down and parent feedback
